Kathmandu, Dec 9: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has vowed to take the toughest possible measures against corruption, asserting that her government will not be intimidated by threats or opposition. Speaking at the 22nd International Anti-Corruption Day event, she urged officials to remain confident and exercise professional independence while carrying out their duties.
PM Karki described the current administration as more than an election-time government, emphasizing that it was established on the foundation of the Gen Z movement’s demand for accountability and good governance. “We are working at full pace—not only on routine matters but also to strengthen transparency and ethical practices. While change may take time, we will not hesitate to take necessary actions against corruption,” she said.
She also acknowledged that as anti-corruption measures are implemented, certain groups have attempted to intimidate the government directly or indirectly. “We are not afraid,” Karki stated, reinforcing her commitment to maintain a firm stance.
The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria insisted that government officials take action quickly without hesitation and fulfill all responsibilities to citizens with no fear of repercussion. State mechanisms have been created to support these activities with long-term transformative results that are in line with public expectations.
